Hi I'm Kyle Allsop

I'm from Utah, I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a little town called Mapleton in Utah. I have grown up in the church and had some hard times and some good times. I grew up playing baseball, golf, soccer and Lacrosse and whatever sport that I could find. I have 4 siblings, 2 brothers and 2 sisters and a lot of family around. I am currently serving in the Canada Halifax Mission and will return in August of 2016.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is no other church in the world that truly teaches Christ's gospel. Different churches have differing opinions on the Bible and other topics and I have come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's church once again upon the earth. There is no other philosophy that can satisfy the demands that I need in my life. One of those demands has been found through the death of my parents. The doctrine of the Plan of Happiness, centered on the Atonement of our Savior keeps me going and helps me to know that everything will be alright and work out in the end.

How I live my faith

Living my faith has been a pretty big process for me. I grew up in the church but I didnt really pay attention to anything that was taught for most of my life growing up. I did a lot of things for my parents to make them happy. Over time I had to make a choice whether to take the time and find out if it was right or to leave to somewhere else so that is what I did. I had a lot of good people around me that helped me come to know that God and Jesus Christ are real and there and care about us and I came to know that the teachings of Jesus Christ actually worked. So from those experiences I decided to serve a mission and help others come to the realization of these same principles. I live my faith by exercising faith. I was moving backward in terms of happiness but with the power of Jesus Christ's Atonement, I started moving forward.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Kyle Allsop
What missionaries share is very important and can make a lasting impact on the lives of those they visit. It is all centered on Jesus Christ and His Gospel. It is not a specific, wrote or memorized discussion; its a message of peace, joy, and love that makes a difference in our lives. Ultimately, they share that we can happy through improving the quality of our lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ, sharing his doctrine which if thought about can be the basis of an eternal improvement cycle. What they share is not forced upon anyone, the message is an invitation to listen and act on something that the missionaries have tried for themselves, which can lead to lasting happiness.
