Hi I'm Judy

I grew up in a LDS family. I am a wife, mother and a grandmother. I love Family History and getting to know my ancestors.

About Me

My husband and I were involved in music before we married in the school and community and we continue to share our musical talents in the organizations of the church and in the ward choir. I worked part time in the schools as a teacher assistant and enjoyed helping those students who struggled or had learning disabilities. My husband was a full time teacher. I enjoy having a garden and eating fresh produce. It is a hobby of mine to learn how I can improve my life by exercising and eating healthy food. We like to go on walks, ride bikes or hike in the nearby canyons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and I have many pioneer ancestors who left their homeland to join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and come to America. I am grateful for their sacrifices and love to learn about their lives. I feel like I have always had a testimony that the church is true. The teachings of the church just make sense to me, for example, it is reasonable that if God is the same yesterday, today and forever then He would continue to speak to people on the earth today as He did in times of old. I am grateful that I know that we do have a prophet on the earth today and he leads us and he receives revelation to guide us through our journey on this earth. My family is very important to me and I know families are important to Heavenly Father. He wants families to continue their love and relationships beyond this life. One of our daughters passed away when she was 37 and had a small family. We miss her so much but have the calm assurance that we will be with her again. Because of the life and atonement of Jesus Christ we can be resurrected and be reunited with our loved ones. I am so glad to be a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I try to follow the teachings of Jesus as taught in the Bible and the Book of Mormon by praying, reading the scriptures and attending church. I have served in our church in many ways such as accompanying on the piano people singing solos or playing for the choir and also playing for different organizations which involved the young people or for all the congregation. I have been a teacher of classes, a leader of young women and a leader for the adult ladies in our church. My husband and I have served together as Activities Directors and Stake Missionaries. Whatever the calling has been I have learned and grown by serving.
