Hi I'm Amanda

I was born and raised in Utah but my mom is from Trinidad and Tobago. I love being outdoors and being active. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I just finished high school and am planning on serving a mission. I've been called to the Milan Italy mission! I am beyond excited to share the gospel! In addition to that, I like to hike and go running as well as play basketball. I just love being active and see the beautiful world Heavenly Father made for us! My mom is from Trinidad and Tobago and we get to go back and visit every few years! The beaches there are gorgeous and mostly I just like getting to know my family there. I love being with my family, whether it's on my mom or my dads side!

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up Mormon, which in a way, holds you back. I have always had the church in my life and I've never had to experience not knowing the truth it holds. I have had my own experiences that have allowed me to truly convert. I know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers, and that He really does love us! One weekend, my parents were going out of town, and my mom had recently gotten in a car accident, she wasn't hurt but the car would not be able to be driven. I had an important school event I needed to go to but the only car that would be drivable that weekend was our stick-shift car. I had practiced a couple times with my dad, but I'd never driven on the real street, just parking lots, and I was terrified. Before my parents left, my dad expressed confidence in me, that I would be able to do it. I didn't really believe it but it was my only choice to get up to my school. I got in the car, and I was just shaking from nerves and anxiety. I then decided I needed to say a prayer. I prayed that I would get there safely, and if I stalled the engine, I would be able to start it back up easily and quickly. I finished the prayer, and had the feeling that Heavenly Father loved me, and wouldn't want me to get in a car wreck before I got to my school. He was rooting for me too! I got to the school in safety, and I didn't even stall the car once! I know that God loves all of us, and is there to help us if we just ask! I know this church is true, I can feel it every Sunday when I'm at church.

How I live my faith

Throughout my Senior year of high school, I was a part of the seminary council. Seminary is a class we take to learn more about the gospel and get closer to Christ throughout the week. We would plan activities and other things that we thought would bring the students closer to Christ. It was such a fantastic experience for me and the other kids on the council! I currently don't have an assignment in my ward, but I've been called to serve in the Italy Milan mission where I will teach in the Italian language.
