Hi I'm Riley Flynn

I am the third oldest of eight, I love Pokemon and video games, I love to cook. I'm a missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Willard Missouri a small town just outside Springfield Missouri. Some people may call it Misery but growing up there I know it's not. My family has grown over the recent years from just four brothers and sisters to having eight of us through the foster care system; so I have both biological and adopted brothers and sisters thanks to it. I love family and my hopes for the future are to become a dad most of all because of what my family taught me growing up: love and laughter. Some more about me is I love video games (Pokemon, Mario, and, Zelda all the the way!), Studio Ghibli movies are my favorite movies of all time (Seriously, right now I'm listening to the Wind Rises Soundtrack, It's that good!!) and I love my saxophone (Alto and Soprano). I am a lifelong member of the Willard High school Cutting-Edge Marching band (whew long title) and it was my favorite part about my high school career. Being Graduated I am not too sure on what to do for college or a career as of yet, but I have time to think and to ponder over that question for now.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Chruch and grew up in it, I knew it was true but had to build my own testimony over time. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I always will. With it I stand firm in what God has declared to be good and true and I cannot waiver. In a world of changing values it can be very difficult to remember right and wrong, good and evil; but living a life centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ will always protect us from any and all forms of adversity. It may take time but the promise that I can be added upon here a little and there a little to build a testimony will keep me going, I love my trials and what I have learned from them; they were not and are not easy but we can be forgiven through the atonement and will always be loved by our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ. Probably the best word of advice that I learned is: if you don't feel like praying because you are so filled with guilt or would feel like a hypocrite for doing so GO PRAY! Tell God how you feel and that you don't want to feel that way anymore and he will comfort you and help you improve and overcome, that is why I know that he loves each of his children no matter what.

How I live my faith

To me my faith has been one of the biggest growing opportunities of my life; growing up I went to church knowing that it was the only thing I could do on a Sunday, but over time the meaning and the importance of it all became so precious and treasured to me. I think my faith grew the greatest around my family, which is the most important thing for all of us to have, no matter what we may call family. I have seen three of my four foster siblings adopted and brought to the temple to be sealed to my family for eternity, and that is the most precious gift my Heavenly Father has given to me. I know that my Heavenly Father lives and that he loves us, he has given all that we need to live a life full of joy on this Earth today and for this life here-after. Knowing this and the blessings I have received tells me that I have a potential to live up to and that I can improve everyday if i strive to live to that in the Hands of our Heavenly Father.
