Hi I'm Colton

I grew up in Utah. I played football and did track&field in high school. I am serving a mission in Santa Cruz Bolivia.

About Me

I am soon to be a missionary in the Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission, and I will report to the Colombia MTC. I graduated high school with honors. I played defensive tackle and offensive tackle on my high school's football team my senior year, and we won the state title. I also threw shot put and discus on the track and field team. I received Academic All State. For shot put, I took second place at region and was in the top five at state. Athletics are a big part of my life. I dedicate nearly two hours a day, six days a week, to going to the gym. I completed nearly two years of college during high school. When I return from my mission, I plan on attending college to receive a finance major.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the LDS church, I know that I have been personally converted to the church. I gained a true testimony when I was preparing for my mission and praying that I could know that this church is true. I know without a doubt that this church is true. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God given to us in these latter days. I am so grateful that I have been able to study it. The messages within are truly life changing. I know that Joseph Smith saw God and correctly translated the Book of Mormon with the divine guidance given to him. I know that each line we read will bring us a greater understanding of the gospel and open our eyes to the Lord’s love for us. I know that prophets give us revelation from God. I also have a deep testimony of prayer. I know that through prayer, we can communicate directly with our Heavenly Father. I know that our prayers WILL be answered, even if it is not the answer we seek out. I’m so grateful for the Holy Ghost. I know that through the Spirit’s guidance, we can know all things which God would have us do. I’m so blessed to have such a great family. They have shown me so much love and have been great examples of how to live in the gospel. I have such a deep love for the Lord. I know that he is the way, the truth, and the light.

How I live my faith

I always try to actively live my faith. One major way I am doing this is by serving a mission. I also regularly attend church events so that I can share my faith with other members and visitors. I visit my neighbors to check on their needs and leave them a message about the church. I was a leader in each of my callings with the young men. having to lead the young men made me learn the necessity of setting a good example. I also live my faith by serving the community. I always try to get involved in service. It is a great way to experience the true love of Christ.
