Hi I'm Paul

I’m a husband, a father of five children, a retired database engineer, a two-time cancer survivor, and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and graduated from Brigham Young University. I served a mission to Mexico as a young man. For a time, my profession gave me the opportunity to travel to countries throughout the world. I met many wonderful people and gained an appreciation for the beauties of this earth. I continue to have a great interest in traveling. In 2006 I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (stage IV), but with excellent care from my doctors and blessings from Heavenly Father, we were able to achieve remission. Unfortunately, the cancer came back in 2009, but a bone marrow transplant and more heavenly blessings have put it in remission to the present date (2014). Never give up!

Why I am a Mormon

Faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life. The Mormon Church has given me greater understanding of their plan for me (where I come from, why I am here, where I am going). The Church teaches the importance of the family (now and in the eternities) and how the family can be a little bit of heaven here on earth. The Church helps me maintain an eternal perspective that helps meet life’s challenges.

How I live my faith

I’ve found daily scripture reading (especially the Book of Mormon) to be a great source of comfort and inspiration. Attendance at Church allows me to associate with wonderful people who have similar goals and objectives. We strengthen one another. As I participate in opportunities for service offered through the Church, life becomes more worthwhile and rewarding.
