Hi I'm Brooke Richards

I'm a mormon. I am preparing to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Helsinki, Finland!

About Me

I have grown up Mormon. Since I was very young my parents have encouraged me to gain my own testimony rather than just trusting theirs. I began reading the Book of Mormon every night when I was 12, and as I have studied it repeatedly in a companionship with fervent prayer, I have come to know that each page rings true. My faith in this book has given me hope through my mother's breast cancer, college at BYU Hawaii, and I know it will keep me motivated while serving my mission for this church. I am THRILLED to get to serve my Heavenly Father who has so graciously been with me through all of my trials; while teaching others of this hope that can be in their lives as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I believe it. I have studied hard to know if this Church is true. I never relied on anyone else's testimony of it. I have read the Book of Mormon and have taken the challenge in Moroni 10: 3-5 and cannot deny the feelings of surety and truth that came over me.

How I live my faith

I have recently moved back from college into my home ward. I so enjoy being back; especially in our third hour with all of the older Sister's who have encouraged me and taught me of this gospel while I was in my youth.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Brooke Richards
Being a future missionary myself I just want to share my answer to this question. I have been asked a few times by others why I am choosing to be a missionary, and my answer is to bring others into a gospel that provides comfort, hope, and encouragement through the words spoken by prophets within the Book of Mormon and our current Prophet.
