Hi I'm Andrew

I grew up in West Jordan. I am preparing to serve a mission in New Mexico. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an 18 year old kid preparing to serve a mission in New Mexico. I play the bag pipes and enjoy using that talent to serve my community. I was a student government officer for two years in high school, loving every minute of it. I enjoy just about any sport, with basketball being my favorite. I have run a lot of miles in my life... Still trying to decide if I enjoy running!

Why I am a Mormon

At first, I was a Mormon because my family was Mormon. I went to church because my parents told me to. But as I grew older, I began to gain a testimony of my own. Through studying the Book of Mormon, keeping the commandments I have been given and serving in the church, I have come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I feel it in my heart when I pray or read the scriptures or reverently pay attention in church and at firesides. And now being able to recognize the Holy Ghost, I realize that I felt that sweet spirit even back when I was a very young boy. I am a Mormon because I feel that the church is true and know being a righteous Mormon will allow me to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

The next big step for me to participate in my community is to serve my mission. I am so excited to do what my Heavenly Father wants me to do and serve. I will be serving in New Mexico, my departure date being September 17th. Occasionally I have been asked to teach the youth my age lessons about the gospel, but all of my time is being spent preparing for my mission. I go to mission prep classes on Sundays and am studying Preach My Gospel and The Book of Mormon.
