Hi I'm Lawauna

I am a wife, a mom, a grandmother, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a cousin, a friend and a recent Mormon convert.

About Me

I grew up in a military family with a single father and 2 brothers (out of 5). I went to high school in California and Hawaii. I have two children and currently have 3 grandchildren with a 4th on the way. I enjoying playing video games (Sims 3 and Guitar Hero), reading and working on cross stitch. I work as a customer service representative for a life insurance company. A job that I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Baptist church and always felt something was missing. I have always believed that we have a Heavenly Father. Never did I question that. But the church was not fulfilling. I attended a couple of Church of Christ and an Episcopal Church. Still searching. I also looked into Buddhism and Judaism. Being divorced, I knew that I could not even think about the Catholic church. I was lucky enough to have been placed in a position at a previous job where my desk mate was a Mormon and another co-worker was a recent convert. My desk mate gave me a book titled Truth Restored by Gordon B Hinckley. I read this book. When I got the the part where Joseph Smith described the first vision, I, all of a sudden, had a warm feeling and felt tears well up in my eyes. I had two lessons with the Missionaries from the ward I am currently in. This did not start out great. I prayed and all of a sudden James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and unbraideth not; and it shall be given him" came to mind. I received my answer in the shape of a cloud shaped like Moroni. From this point I never looked back. I started meeting with the Missionaries in my friend's ward. I was baptized into the church on March 15,2014. I have never been so fulfilled in my life. I know that this church is the true church. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best I can be and sharing my testimony and the Gospel with anyone who will listen. I strive to be that bright spot in someone's day that otherwise may not be so cheery.
