Hi I'm Jess

I was a teen mother that made it to law school. I am now married to my best friend and combined we have 8 children.

About Me

I grew up in a little beach side village called Yeppoon in Australia. I had 2 previous marriages, both abusive. From these relationships I was blessed with 4 beautiful children and a testimony that even when things are really bad, heavenly father sends us messages of hope and love. I attended Law School and was only 8 credits from my law degree when I met my beloved, who just happened to be an american soldier; because of this I relocated to the USA. After 2 years of heartache, I have just been given sole legal custody of my 4 children. This truly is a blessing and a testament that if we endure well and trust in gods timing, all will be well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was catholic before I became a Mormon and I found there were so many answers I had that were not fulfilled. I loved it when the fall of Adam and Eve was explained to me by the missionaries, it made sense! Of course an all knowing god knew they would eat the apple! I love the concept of the degrees of heaven and the truth that we can be a family for time and eternity. The pre-existence... of course! When I learnt all of this I could feel in my heart that I was hearing the truth. The church has provided me with answers to questions I could not find elsewhere. I also love that we celebrate the living Christ. Having been a catholic the notion of no crosses was something that took some time for me to get used to; however as I studied the doctrine and learnt what the living Christ meant, it made sense to me that we celebrate our living lord rather than his temporary death.

How I live my faith

I make sure that my home is Christ centered. We have pictures and art work around our home and I encourage my children to have a personal relationship with our heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ. I try very hard to keep the promises I have made to the lord and do my best to follow one of Christ's simplest commandments :Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". We attend Church most Sundays and as a family we try hard to never miss an opportunity to bear our testimony.
