Hi I'm Alex

I'm a professional violinist, a newspaper photographer, and I'm a Mormon MISSIONARY.

About Me

Hi, I'm Alex. I enjoy good music, saguaro cacti, and Taco Bell. I'M A MORMON!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up knowing next to nothing about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, even though I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. None of my family members were members of the church but growing up, I always had friends who invited me to events at the church. I never really went. When I was 12 years old, I started going to church with my best friend and I realized how much I loved going to church! I also started attending and taking part in the weekly activities that the church provides for youth ages 12-18! After being an active participant in weekly church activities and service for nearly a year and having read the entire Book of Mormon, I decided it was time to learn a little more and to take my investigation of the church a little further. After a short time, I was able to meet with full-time missionaries in my home and after learning about the doctrines of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, I decided to be baptized for myself-even though no one else in my family was interested in the church. I am eternally grateful for the influence of my childhood friend and for all of the "Mormons" that I grew up with and went to grade school with. I will never forget the valiant way in which all of my childhood friends lived the standards of the gospel and the love that they have always showed towards me and for my family. I love the hope and clarity that the restored gospel brings to the dark confusion of this earth life. I know that through the atonement, restored gospel, and restored church of Jesus Christ, we have the power to be cleansed from sin and from the guilt which sin brings and to be sealed with our families forever. I am grateful that I have come to the knowledge of these truths, that I cannot live without. I cannot imagine living in this life or in the life to come without the knowledge and peace that I can be with my loved ones forever.

How I live my faith

At this time in my life, I have the amazing opportunity to live my faith loud and proud 24/7 as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. If you've ever seen the young men riding their bikes in white shirts and ties through the streets of your town, the odds are that you've seen someone just like me, a full-time missionary! As a missionary, I have left my family/friends, school, job, and everything I've ever known entirely for TWO YEARS to share the gospel that has brought so much happiness, direction, and peace to my life with as many people as possible! I am serving my mission in the Arizona Scottsdale Mission speaking spanish! I love bringing the joy of the gospel to people that are in desperate need of light and truth! Serving those in need is my full time job as a missionary and I love to be immersed in serving others, just as the Lord did during His life on the earth. For the next two years, I'm Elder Johnson, and I'm a Mormon MISSIONARY!
