Hi I'm Kiyo Shi Aldemita Osumo

I'm 20 years old and I live in the Philippines. I now have my mission call. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Filipina-Japanese-Spanish, I grew up in Cebu and i study architecture. I love to draw and paint, I sing in the university choir and i play the ukulele. When typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines the chapel where i attend sacrament services was converted to a evacuation center for the LDS members who survived the typhoon. For 4 months the entire stake helped the survivors from providing food and medicine but also in making them happy again. I enjoyed serving them and listening to them, getting to know them. During their stay, my friends and I would spend the whole afternoon with them and play games with the yourh survivors.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon. I was born to a Mormon family. And I love living each day as a Mormon because it gives me inner peace. When i was younger I couldnt understand why but when I was in the youth and seminary class my curriosity was triggered that I searched, pomdered and prayed about the truthfulness of the gospel. And I remember evey detail of the feeling after i prayed. I felt peace in my heart, happiness that i couldnt picture out. and I knew from that time that my prayer has been answered. And since that I grew to love the scriptures, I challenged myself to share the gospel to my friends because I wanted them to feel the happiness I felt. I felt a rush in my heart that people should hear about the gospel, which pushed me to choose to serve a full-time mission. I knew many was at stake, but the Lord blesses us in our endeavours because He knows that as long as we are faithful and we do our work, He will make things happen. I know that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true. It changes lives. It changed mine. I know that the gospel helps us find our answers to our questions. Through it, our faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will grow. I know these things are true, and I leave these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Amen.

How I live my faith

When I was 19, I was called as the second counselor in the young women organization in my ward. I teach in the young women class and I also teach them basic music lessons. I help organize mutual activities for the youth. Every mutual activity is always something that i look forward to beause there is always something new to learn and it is clean fun. It helps both leader and youth feel the spirit and strive to be a better person and to stand for truth and righteousness. I always loved the youth organization because it teaches the youth to be brave and grow a deeper love for the Lord at a young age. It feels great to do that now, and share to the youth what ive learned before and help them nourish their faith in Jesus Christ.

What is faith?

Kiyo Shi Aldemita Osumo
Faith is to trust God and to have confidence on Him. Faith is not having a perfect of all things, itnos to hope for things which are not seen but are true. In The Book of Mormon, there are many stories of faith that i relate each day. My favorite one is when Nephi was commanded by the Lord to build a ship. Nephi's brothers murmurred and they called Nephi a fool because they thought that he was so ambitious to build a ship. Nephi was weary because of this but he was faithful to the Lord that he can do it despite all the things his brothers said. And he did accomplish what the Lord has commanded Him. Just like in the world today, the Lord has commandments that we should obey. But the ways of the world contrasts the commandments of the Lord. But if we have faith and desire to believe that through Christ we can do all things, we can endure. The more we have faith in every footstep in our lives, the more our love for Heavenly Father will grow. If we do our part in doing the act to work to achieve our goals and having faith in God, we can atttain success Show more Show less
