Hi I'm Joseph Walker

I grew up in Utah. I love swimming, Snowboarding, spending time with friends, I'm serving a mission in Ohio And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah, I have a younger brother, two older sisters, a brother in law, and two awesome nieces. When I was younger I realized I love water. So I eventually decided to start swimming. My senior year of highschool my relay team took second at state and I did alright in my individual events coming in 10th in the 50 freestyle and 8th in the 100. Swimming is my favorite thing! If there's water involved most likely I'm in! My mom taught me to love reading and my dad taught me to love the outdoors. I love hiking, going for walks, wake boarding, boating, snowboarding, repelling, mountain biking, and just exploring! Occasionally I enjoy some videogames and movies. for now I've decided to give all that up for two years and serve my God who I love so much for two years. I'll be back July 2016!

Why I am a Mormon

Having been born into a family where my father and mother are both members of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I trusted and listened to their council. For a good portion of my life I took only there word for it and did nothing of myself. I got to the point where I realized I had no idea if what I was doing was right. I wanted to know if this Church was really all it claimed to be. I remember one night, everyone was asleep and I was alone. I then knelt by my bedside and prayed to God for help. I prayed to know if this was Christ's church. I waited for my answer and after some time gave up and went to bed. Years later I was sitting talking with some friends and one of them asked why we all wanted to serve a mission. Without time to think I said something that surprised even me. In that moment the spirit testified of what I said was true. I feel like that's the beginning of why I'm still a Mormon, why I'm even in Ohio in the first place, and why I love God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by action, I know that the Book of Mormon is holy scripture so I read it and study it's message, I know that Christs church is restored to the earth today so I share it. I strive to live the same way the savior would and to look at everyone around me through his eyes. I try to become better each day and change into the person Christ knows I can become. But most importantly I serve those around me, and help them in any and every way I can. I know the church of Jesus Christ is the lords kingdom on the earth today prepatory to the second coming of Jesus Christ.
