Hi I'm Hailey

I shoot a mean shotgun. I love the outdoors. I'm a missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey! I just graduated from high school and will be headed to college, but first I'm serving a mission. I'm big into spending time with my family, especially outdoors. We camp, fish, four-wheel, hike, shoot guns, and fish some more! Yellowstone National Park is my favorite place in the world. I've been to many places in the US and have also traveled to the UK when I was five, flown to Chile for a week as a teen, learned Spanish in Mexico for six weeks, and been to Canada for a grand total of forty-two minutes. Laughing with my friends is one of the best things ever and I am a big fan of dessert. Little kids make my day and I look forward to being a mom someday. Math is definitely a challenge for me, but I've learned that if I dedicate myself, I can do hard things. Growing up in a house full of boys has definitely made me not be a pansy. I had some health struggles with stomach ulcers in the past but am doing great now! I always say bring on the chocolate. Most of all I like to work hard and then play hard and spend time with people I love.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy! I can't say I have a crazy, awesome, mind-blowing, earth-shattering conversion story because I just don't. I have been a Mormon my whole life. My whole family's a clan of Mormons. However, I am not the kind of girl to blindly do as everyone around her does. I wasn't born with a testimony; I worked for it! As I learned things in the gospel, listened to things my parents and teachers said, I tried them. And as I tried living principles I was taught, I was blessed for it as promised in the scriptures and by those who taught me. When I discovered that living commandments did indeed bring those promised blessings to my life, I knew that those principles were true. And that is how my testimony was born: bit by bit, a gradual process that continues even today. So what do I have a testimony of? I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is TRUE! Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that by living by its teachings, we can come closer to Heavenly Father and His Son. Thomas S. Monson is a prophet on the earth today and that he receives revelation from God and guides the church according to His will. And I know that Jesus Christ lives. He is my Savior, my Redeemer, my brother, and He loves me. He suffered for my sins so that I can be repent and be clean and return to live with my Father in Heaven again. And He did the same for YOU! I know that by following the example of Christ and using the Atonement, we can be truly and eternally happy. And that's something I want. So I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm a full time missionary, sharing my faith with everyone I meet 24/7! I adore people with special needs. They just have something so alive and sweet about them that you can't find anywhere else, and serving them is one way I try to live my faith. I've been part of a club at my high school that is dedicated to befriending kids with special needs. I also volunteered once a week for a year to spend my evenings doing fun activities with special needs adults. I also lead the music that the congregation sings in our church meetings. Babysitting kids so parents can get out and go spend some time together or go to the temple is something I've very much enjoyed doing. But most of all, I try to be happy and smile!
