Hi I'm Carissa

I love to read, quilt, swim, play piano, dance (with no one looking), attend BYU-I and just started a mission to Nevada Las Vegas.

About Me

I love to read. Anything that is fantasy (definitely sappy fairy tale retellings), sci-fi, or if it is good I will read it. I also love to play the piano-particularly the songs from Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. I loved my first year at BYU-I. I loved having fun with my roomates and felt like I was going to freeze to death occasionaly. I studied secondary education and social studies. I have one brother that drives me crazy and I return the favor. I love to swim and participated in swim team for several years. My favorite color is light purple.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon becaue I know it is truly Christ's Church on the Earth. I know that Christ is my Savior and that he has paid the price for my sins so I can live with my Hevanly Father again. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ and teaches us how to be better and happier people. I know that God answers prayers and has always shown that he loves me and wants what is best for me. I am so grateful that he has put a living Prophet on the Earth that is able to recieve revelation for the whole church to make sure that it is always on track especially because the world is constantly changing. I know that I am always the happiest when I listen to the spirit and follow Christ. I know this is what God wants me to do.

How I live my faith

I have always focused on being a good example for others. It is easy to say that you should live a certain way and much harder to live that way. When I think of Christ telling us to follow him I always think about acting like him. I love to read the scriptures. They give me a feeling of peace and joy. I love being able to pray to my Heavenly Father who always answers and makes his love for me clear. I have been a ward missionary, primary teacher for children age eight turning nine, and when I was in Young Womens I was often in the presidency (they help organize the activitys that happen on a weeknight). I attend church each sunday and have the opportunity to share my faith with those around me and to be strengthened by their faith.
