Hi I'm Josh

I'm the oldest boy in my family. I love music, and can't help but sing often. :) I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My Dad and I have loved spending time together playing board games, building models, going backpacking, and working. I love music. I have learned how to play the piano and the guitar with years of lessons, and took voice lessons for a year. I love spending time with my beautiful older sister Jessie (my profile picture). I like putting together quick dates with my friends that include ballroom dance. Last year I was able to act as senior patrol leader for a group of scouts going to the 2013 National Jamboree. It taught me a lot about leading, and I've learned to appreciate how patient my friends and leaders are with me. I have shared a room with my little brother since he was born nearly 12 years ago. He's a great kid, and is getting harder to beat at wrestling. :) I am leaving tomorrow to serve a full-time mission for the LDS Church in the Washington Federal Way Mission! I am so excited to join an older sister out in the mission field! :) I'm competitive, love sports, and can't help but enjoy laughing. I tend to be louder than some, and I enjoy acting. I graduated this summer, so I'm a younger missionary, and I'm excited about college after my mission.

Why I am a Mormon

A big part of why I am in the church is because my parents are. I come from a family who has gone to church since before I was born. My grandparents are converts on my father's side, and my mom's family has been members for several generations. Growing up in the church and surrounded by the Spirit in my home, I learned a lot about the gospel and developed a love for it. As a teen, however, my parent's decision wasn't enough. They have been patient with me and have let me learn why I love this church for myself. I love the church because of the peace I feel here. Because I need the guidance that my Father in Heaver gives me. I need His influence in my life, and that keeps me

How I live my faith

I have really been blessed in having great callings. I have been serving as both Stake and Ward youth family history consultant for the last several months. I get to teach about people's ancestors, and show them how to research them for themselves. Getting to work with my friends and other youth and teach them how to do their family history work has been amazing. I have also been serving on the stake youth committee to decide what we get to do throughout the year. Dances, firesides, and challenges--particularly about family history--have been especially wonderful to plan and carry out. I've been working as the first assistant to the bishop to help lead the young men in my ward. Just recently I was given my personal favorite opportunity. I have been able to work in the temple in preparation for my mission for the last several weeks. The hours I get to spend there and the incredible feelings there have both filled and lifted me. I love to see the temple. I recently received my mission call, and I'm looking forward to fulfilling that calling.
