Hi I'm Winter

Utah born. Passionate dancer, reader and adventurer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19. I'm a traveler at heart. I've lived in Hawaii where I went to school at BYU-Hawaii. The people and culture I was introduced to while attending there will forever be a huge part in my heart and life. I now currently reside in the most beautiful place near the mountains where I love hiking, mountain biking, running and adventuring. I love to read, dance, and sing loudly when no one's at home. I'm also quite a bit of a nerd (and proud of it!). I teach dance, something I am very grateful I get to do, and work at a daycare where I love playing pretend and make-believe with the amazing kids I work with. It's not even working, mostly just playing. And its awesome. Life is a great adventure, and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I had the great blessing of being raised in a 'traditional' family. My dad went to work, and my mom stayed home and raised me and my five brothers and sister. I will never be able to fully convey my gratitude towards my parent's for the sacrifices they made to make this situation possible. They, along with my siblings were always so loving, happy and supportive. I knew that all of this was because of their faith. Of our faith. Of mine. This Gospel and its principles of living made my childhood a wonderful one. And while trials arose, and hardships came, my parent's were always wonderful examples to me. I have always known that this gospel is good. It brings happiness and it blesses lives. But I gained my own, personal testimony of its truthfulness after an activity with the Young Women and our leaders in my ward when I was about 15. We did a '24-hour Book of Mormon reading marathon'. It was long, but it was incredible, and we read through the Book of Mormon in two days. Stories came together as one large story, one that pointed towards Christ and his teachings. I was asked to bear my Testimony the following Sunday, and words came out of my mouth that I didn't realize I was capable of forming. I spoke of the truth of the Book of Mormon, of the sacrifices made, and of Christ and his doctrines. I knew that the Church was true. I didn't just believe anymore, I knew. The feelings of peace and joy the Holy Ghost has brought me are undeniable. I cannot deny this Church. I know that anyone who reads the Scriptures with honest intent and prays about the truth of the LDS church, will find it to be true. Its crazy. Its beautiful. And it's true. I know it. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm currently preparing to serve an LDS mission in Boston Massachusetts, speaking Spanish, come October. I can't wait to serve and see what Heavenly Father has in store for me. While Spanish isn't exactly my 'forte' the internet has been my great guide in learning some basics. I love helping others in my community by helping babysit, clean, or cooking dinner. There are so many chances to help others and it makes me feel fantastic myself when I can make someone else's burden light! I also love looking for missionary opportunities and teaching close friends who aren't of my faith.
