Hi I'm Shelby

I grew up in Boise, ID. I love to sing and play softball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I have lived there my whole life. I was blessed with amazing parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister. We are a goofy sort of family, always joking and teasing each other. Growing up I have always loved to sing and play sports. While I always played a variety of sports softball was my main focus. I played for 13 years total, including 4 years on the high school team. My other passion is choir, my live would not be complete without music. Through choir I made close friends and had great experiences. I also participated in a number of musicals through out high school. I was rusty in Footloose, Aunt Eller in Oklahoma, and a Folly Girl in Crazy for You. After High School I started collage at BYU-I. I plan on becoming a Physical Therapist-Assistant. My interest in this started when I had ankle surgery my junior year of high school. After having to participate in Physical Therapy I decided that's want I wanted to for the rest of my life. And that leads me to present day. This is who I am. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am one of the lucky ones (at least I think so) who was born into the Mormon religion. Although I have never been apart of another religion, I know that this is the true church. I'll admit growing up I just went to church because mom and dad did. However, as I got older I began to wonder for myself. I took the time and effort to read and study the Book of Mormon, as I did I felt a deep sense of peace. When I finished the book, I got onto my knees and asked the Lord if what I had read was true. I could not deny the feeling of warmth and joy that engulfed me. I am a Mormon because I know the church is true. I know Joseph Smith was called of God to restore his everlasting Gospel. I am a Mormon because I love the way the church encourages me to live a healthy, service filled life. I am Mormon because I believe we are all children of God, and the Mormon church teaches that we will all return to be together again. Lastly, I am a Mormon because it all just makes sense. I encourage you to look at the facts, at all the history, and what you know of Christ; And than read the Book of Mormon, and you will find that it is indeed the truth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith my serving those around me. I uphold the standards that I believe to be true. I am honest with my friends and family, and seek for opportunities to serve others. The church helps me do this by giving me various "jobs" that I can do. Even at my young age I have the opportunity to help and serve those youth coming after me. For two years now I have been apart of our summer camp we have for all the youth aged girls. At this camp I help the girls bond with each other, grow in their testimony of Christ, and teach them skills that will help them through out their life.
