Hi I'm Cameron

I'm an 18 year old prospective medical student, and a qualified piano teacher. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I am the eldest of five children, and have been brought up in the church. I have applied to study medicine at university, and have a place at Nottingham, conditional on achieving the required A level results. Upon request, my place has been deferred for two years to allow me to serve a two year mission for the church. I have been called to serve in the Greece, Athens mission. My hobbies include sports and music. I am a keen piano player, having obtained honours in a piano teaching diploma, and I also write my own music. I love most sports, especially swimming, football, basketball and volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong testimony of the church and the Book of Mormon. I gain comfort and peace as I read it, as well as the Bible and other scripture. I love attending church, both because of the strong peace I feel as I attend meetings and partake of the sacrament, and because of the great people I am able to associate with. I am strengthened each week as I meet with friends and church leaders who continually love and support me, and I hope that I can do the same for them. My testimony has grown greatly as I have been able to teach a non-member friend about my beliefs, and handle her often challenging questions. I have been amazed at how the scriptures can give answers to my questions, whether regarding doctrine or personal challenges I am facing. I know that the church is true, that Joseph Smith restored the church to the earth and through the power of God, was able to translate the Book of Mormon. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today, who can provide guidance and council directly relevant to our daily lives. Whilst I have been brought up in the church, I have taken the opportunity to pray and ask God myself if the church is true, and have been able to find a personal testimony through the Holy Ghost and the scriptures. I know that anyone who prays sincerely and reads the Book of Mormon can have that same assurance and knowledge that I have been blessed to find.

How I live my faith

I constantly strive to live my life as closely to Christ's teachings as possible, taking time to pray and study the scriptures daily. I am currently preparing to serve my mission by learning all I can, and by assisting local missionaries as they serve. I try to contribute to family life by giving service and being patient with family members. Obviously I am not perfect, but I know that through repentance and faith in Christ's atonement, I can be forgiven and improve myself each day. I am excited by the opportunity to serve my mission, and look forward to making a difference in the lives of the people of Greece1
