Hi I'm CBowen

I grew up in Nevada. I am a student-athlete and have traveled the world. I'm a mormon with a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I really like to learn about and speak to other people about their experiences and lives. I like to travel. I enjoy sports and plan on attending college at a major university following my missionary service and studying some type of medicine.

Why I am a Mormon

Through my study of Jesus Christ in the Bible and The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ, I have come to know him. I have come to understand his divine mission as The Only Begotten of God, Heavenly Father. I have learned about the great Plan of Salvation of Heavenly Father, the quintessential role of the Savior Jesus Christ, who offered himself as an atoning sacrifice in order that I might overcome both a physical and spiritual death and as such, have the opportunity to return and live with my Heavenly Father and the Savior for eternity if I will follow the Savior's commandments which he has instituted here on earth. I know that if I will repent of my sins and follow the commandments, that I can gain eternal life and experience the true joy and peace that can only come through following a path of righteousness. I have come to understand that the Gospel of Jesus Christ was organized and instituted her upon the earth by the Savior when he walked the earth and that it contains all of the saving ordinances and doctrine necessary to again enter into the presence of God, the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. For a time after the death of Jesus and his apostles, priesthood authority was not present upon the earth to administer the Gospel. I am a mormon because the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is once again on the earth, having been restored in the early 1800's under the direction of Jesus Christ through a modern-day prophet, Joseph Smith who received priesthood authority through the direct laying on of hands by those disciples and apostles (then heavenly messengers) which were originally called and set apart by the Savior himself before his death and resurrection here on the earth after the meridian of time. The fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, adheres to basic doctrines of thirteen articles of faith, which are true and if lived, will surely lead me back to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I enjoy being taught and teaching. I was just released as the First Assistant to the Bishop in the quorum at my church. I enjoyed that calling very much and especially liked attending the lesson's taught by my father. I also completed my Eagle Scout rank over this past year and was able to serve other's who are ill and/or suffering through my service project. All of these experiences have taught me many great and wonderful lessons about Jesus Christ, selfless service and love of others. I have learned that I can overcome my trials in life when I serve others.
