Hi I'm Braelyn White

I've lived in Arizona most of my life. I love to sing, and am in my third year of college at BYU-Idaho as a music major.

About Me

I am from Arizona, where I have lived most of my life. I love spending time with friends and family, traveling, going to the movies, listening to music, cooking, hiking, reading, learning new languages, and laughing! I have a big family, with eight younger brothers and two younger sisters. One of my favorite things to do is to sing, and have been in choirs my whole life and taken voice lessons the past nine years. I am in my third year of college at BYU-Idaho as a music major. I love learning about music, art, and literature. After two semesters at college, I toured Europe with the BYU-Idaho humanities department. We went to London, Italy, Germany, and France. I absolutely loved it and plan on seeing more someday! Over my life I also have found that I am happiest when helping and serving others. I have great interest in social work and hope to get a Masters in Social Work. I served a mission in the New York New York North Mission, Spanish speaking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this church is true, and I can never deny that. This gospel is beautiful; I cannot imagine living my life without it. This is a gospel of joy, hope, and love. Every person in this world has trials and afflictions. When I was 15, I was thrown from the back of a car and received a traumatic brain injury. It has been a very long, hard recovery with many complications. As a result of the damage done to my brain, I had a series of seizures that caused me to have to go home early from my mission I was serving in New York. I was not able to return to my mission. That was extremely hard for me, because I loved the people I was serving with and I loved spreading the message of this gospel. The past six years have been difficult and painful, both physically and emotionally. It would have been impossible without the gospel truths to carry me through. I know that our Savior Jesus Christ knows every single pain we feel, and can give us the peace, love, comfort, and strength we lack to make it through the darkest times in our lives. Christ loves us all more than we can possibly imagine. This knowledge has carried me through hard times, and I know I have never been forgotten or alone. Christ never fails or forgets us. He eases our burdens and heals our sorrows and our broken hearts. This truth of the gospel has been so important and influential in my life. In fact, it is one of the main reasons I chose to serve a mission. I want to help as many people as possible to feel the hope and love of Christ. This is a gospel of glad tidings and great joy, and everyone deserves a chance to learn about it. Even though I'm no longer a missionary, I still reach out to those around me and try to help lift them and share what I have learned through my experiences.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending all of my church meetings and happily doing whatever I am called to do. I love attending church on Sunday; it brings a lot of peace, order, knowledge, and comfort into my life. It has always been important to me to live my faith every day of the week, not just on Sundays. I do that by making sure to always be a good example of a follower of Christ by trying my best to lift up, serve, and love everyone around me in every situation.
