Hi I'm Josie

I am a wife, mother of 3, a photographer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the beautiful town of Huntsville, Utah and was blessed to be raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I met my husband, Ryan, in college and after a whirl-wind dating experience (and me getting engaged to someone else!) we were finally married in the St. George Temple. We now have 3 beautiful kids who exhaust me on a daily basis! I stay home to take care of our kids while Ryan works as an Optometrist. Although my life feels like a never ending pile of laundry to do, sticky tables to be wiped off, dirty floors to be mopped and messes to be cleaned up - I love being a Mom! I love to escape for a few minutes at a time and get lost in a good book. I am also a photographer and find a lot of joy and satisfaction in professionally photographing families and children. I love spending time with my husband and enjoying good friends. I have a deep love and appreciation for music and am a big fan of musicals. I love to bake and love to make treats with my children for holidays and special occasions (and of course just for fun!) and love to share them with neighbors and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior Jesus Christ and am so grateful for his Atonement. I have come to know for myself that my Savior loves me, I know He is aware of me and my personal sorrows and heartaches. For many years I thought of the Atonement as forgiveness for my sins and I felt the miracle of forgiveness many times. But I have only recently truly felt the healing power of the Atonement and gained my own true testimony of this miracle. My Mom was killed in a car accident at the age of 43, the ache I feel, missing my Mom, has been overwhelming. On the day it had been 10 years since my Mom's death I was feeling especially overwhelmed and heartbroken at the thought that I hadn't seen my Mom in 10 years, that she had never been here to see my babies and to be a Grandma to them, and how much I miss her. I was feeling so heartbroken and ached so deeply for my Mom, and in a moment something changed. The words I had heard just a week before in a talk from our General Relief Society President, Linda K. Burton, came into my mind - "All that is unfair about life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ." In that moment, overwhelmed with sadness, I was suddenly overwhelmed with the love of my Savior. I knew that my own sorrows and heartaches mattered to Him, I knew that He was truly the only person who knows my pain, that He has felt my pain. I know that no matter if it's my pain in losing my Mom or my friend's pain in losing her child or anyone else's pain for any loss or hurt in life, the atonement can and will heal us. I am so grateful for my Savior and I know He loves me. I also have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, I have read it many times, I know it is true. I know that living the principles of this Gospel bless my life daily and help me to be happy. I know that our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today, he guides and directs the Lord's Church. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the one true and complete church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I have loved serving the youth of our church in our Young Women program, I have also loved serving the children in our church in our Primary program. I currently work with 8 - 9 year old girls teaching a primary class on Sundays and doing "Activity Days" twice a month, we do fun activities with the girls to teach them new things, help them gain friendships and to help them learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Josie
The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ, a witness that He lived on this earth and is the Son of God. It contains records kept by ancient prophets and the history of their people. Show more Show less
