Hi I'm Becca

I'm a singer, I'm a dancer, I'm a BYU Cougar, I'm a returned missionary, and I'm a Mormon :)

About Me

Hi, my name is Becca! Music is my passion--I never stop singing. I love to play piano, and in high school I was a dancer. I come from a loving, Mormon home, with one older brother who served his mission in Texas and is now happily married. After taking a year and a half break from BYU to serve a mission in Chile, I have now returned as a sophomore, excited for life and for what lies ahead of me. I'm a singer, I'm a dancer, I'm a BYU Cougar, I'm a returned missionary, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was "born into the covenant", but I'd like to think that I was truly converted when I was 14. I always had a deep belief that God was there, but I was sick of following the commandments and I didn't know for sure if the church was true. I felt like I already knew everything, and the church had nothing else to offer me. I remember telling my mom that when I grew up, I was going to leave the church. But I also noticed that I was completely miserable. It seemed that every time I went to church, the rest of my week was way better than the weeks I had skipped. I followed the advice given in Alma 32, which told me to experiment on the gospel to know if it was a good seed. I started reading my scriptures. I started praying. I remember one summer I spent hours reading the Book of Mormon, over and over again. I finally went to church youth camps to find the answers that I had been looking for: Who am I, what was my purpose, and was I important? I came out of them with a solid testimony, that I am a child of God, that I was here to learn and to grow in the test we call life, and because of that, I have a major role in God's plan. Today, I am a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.

How I live my faith

One of the best quotes I've heard is "preach the gospel; use words if necessary." I live the gospel by trying to be the best example I can be to others. I recognize my role as a disciple of Christ. As a disciple of Christ, I am responsible to act as He would act and to do as He would do. I don't always know what is going to happen but I know that I can trust in the Lord and that He will provide.
