Hi I'm Matthew

I grew up in Utah. I love family and sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old, about to go on my mission and I'm terrified. I'm terrified but excited that I get to be apart of God's royal army! I've always loved sports always have always will, not saying I'm great at them. But I love competition, I'm still trying to figure out if that's good or bad. I have a huge fascination with planes. Planes are just so amazing to me that something that heavy can be in the air. I love to figure things out! When I grow up I wanna be in the field of forensics because of problems that need to be solved. I love technology, figuring out what all different wires do, how to hook things together, stuff like that. In high school I played the trumpet started when I was in 7th grade all the way through my senior year. I love hiking. It has always been a huge hobby of mine! I have my hard days, my depressed days, my "the world would have been better off if it would have blown up in 2012" days, but my life has been great! I always end up on my feet, God has always been there for me! I love feeling the Spirit, doing service when I can, and living life to the best I can.

Why I am a Mormon

You know, there's a lot of reasons why I could tell you why I'm a Mormon. Hope, true love for one another, knowledge, reassurance. All things I can testify one can receive through the gospel! But why be Mormon? No other reason solidifies my decision more, than the gift of the Atonement. It is so hard for me to think that Jesus bleed and died for my sins, which shows that God the father and his Son Jesus Christ love me! Despite what I may do, think, or say. They love me regardless. Not only me. The world! I can't imagine the pain, the heartache Jesus felt in the Garden. I now I was in heaven wishing I could of taken his place. I am a sinner. I am not perfect! But God has forgiven me so many times and his son's blood has washed away the stains. This is why I'm Mormon! I know this gospel only brings forth happiness. I have a very strong testimony that I will one day cry and Jesus feet wishing I would of been a better person than what I was yesterday. This Church is a true Church! I love it, and I plan to always live it. I would like to be the person that if someone ever has a question about this Church I can answer it with every ounce of my ability.

How I live my faith

I love this gospel! I know that it is 100% true! The trails that God has been through with me, holding me up has been more to me than words can express. When I was younger, about 5 years old, things weren't looking good. I remember crying a lot, there wasn't any way for me to tell my parents what was wrong because it wasn't the common cold, no fever, I wasn't out playing sports and getting knocked around. I just cried. I went to the doctors, which they then proceeded to call the hospital and assigned me to Primary Children's and I was not allowed to go home till the Doctors had answers. They couldn't tell what was wrong. Finally, through prayer and faith, the Doctors discovered that my Cerebellum was filling with water. It was so rare, I was the 1st in Utah and the 6th in the United states to of had it, well, as far as I know. I had to beat the odds that where against me if I cared to continue to live. I felt so good the day I came home. I find it hard to give credit to myself for pulling it through and fighting it off. Rather, I believe that God has a bigger purpose for me in life, and all of this was Gods way of showing me that I am being preserved to bring forth a work he needs me to do. Ever since this experience I have had my eyes opened to Gods power! How great it is! So I live my faith like I won't be here tomorrow. Like I will meet my maker in the near future. Gods plan is huge and its not worth messing up on this very short time that we have here on this earth. I try the best I can to rekindle my faith every day so that I can keep my testimony strong.
