Hi I'm Eric

I'm a college student. I love NASCAR racing. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town where everyone knew everyone else. My dad for whatever reason started watching NASCAR racing when I was about 9 years old and I have been an avid fan ever since. I graduated high school in 2007 and soon left home to go to college. I just graduated with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2014. Soon after graduating college I married the love of my life. We had dated for a year and a half before getting married. We met in the local singles congregation. Right now I am pursuing a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and enjoying the journey.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings and doctrine have brought me closer to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. The Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible. I have prayed to God to know if the Book of Mormon was true and I have felt feelings of extreme peace. Similarly when I read and learn from the Bible I learn about Christ and can feel of His love. This peace hit me hardest when in my first year of college. It was my first living away from home. I could go to bed when I wanted, hang out with whoever, and do whatever I wanted at any time of the day. Although I continued to go to church weekly, I didn't read scriptures or pray very often. I knew I should, but I just didn't do it. Then one day I decided to make it a goal to read and pray every night. I was in the routine of watching TV right before bed, so I decided instead of watching TV, I would take that time to read scriptures instead. I did this for a couple weeks straight and saw a huge change in my attitude. I was happier; school was less stressful; little annoyances didn't bother me anymore; I had more patience. I knew this was a direct result of seeking out Godly things before worldly things. The Book of Mormon and Bible brought me closer to God.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday. I have had positions in the past where I have had to teach lessons or organize weekly activities for members of the congregation. I now participate in weekly activities by being present and supporting those who lead the congregation.
