Hi I'm Syd

I'm 19, currently serving as a full time missionary in in the Texas Houston mission and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am currently serving as a full time missionary. I attended a year of schooling at CSU San Marcos before I left and plan to return for at least another year. I am a business major and love talking and marketing to people. I am the oldest of 4 girls in my family and have amazing parents that raised me in the church. I love being outdoors, snow skiing, wakeboarding, tubing, hiking, and being with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was lucky enough to have the gospel in my life from the beginning. As I have grown I continue to believe that this church is true. I have seen my life be so blessed because of it. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and listens and answers my prayers. And I know that He watches over me and gives me the guidance to live my life in the way I best can. I know that the atonement was given to us so we can return and I love that blessing in my life because I make mistakes but with the atonement I can repent and one day live with my Heavenly Father again. I am a Mormon because I have faith in my Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ and I believe Christ is my redeemer. I have seen how the gospel changes lives and I know that without the gospel I would be lost and in the dark. With the gospel, I am able to know so much and feel loved even in my darkest and most troubling hours. I am grateful to be a Mormon. This is why I choose to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am a gospel doctrine teacher and a ward missionary in my YSA ward and love both callings. My callings help me to continuously remember the gospel each week as I go out with the missionaries to teach and prepare lessons to teach my class. I also am one of three LDS students at my university but with the help of my ward and friends at school who support me in the church, I am able to live the gospel and be an example to my classmates. I also strive to be modest in the way I dress and speak. It is hard often to dress modestly but I remember how much my Savior loves me everytime I dress modestly.
