Hi I'm Julie

I grew up in the heat of Texas. I love learning and exercising! I'm serving a mission in Montreal, Canada. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up the youngest of eleven kids. Six boys and five girls with plenty of love to go around. Mom's breakfasts for the army of us are the best ever. I have never been spared the opportunity to learn from others and their examples, I'm surrounded by them. I love to play soccer, read as much as I can, and sleep sleep sleep. I take every chance I get, to learn about other cultures and traditions, especially the food. That is the best way to take on a city, through its homemade specialties. I'm a sophomore in college looking to study Industrial Design. The dream is to be carpenter. I love the feeling of finishing a project.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was given the opportunity at an early age to see for myself that it was truly the Church of Jesus-Christ restored on the earth. I'm a Mormon because I know The Book of Mormon to be the word of God. I've read it many times, prayed many times to know if it was true, and have received many times the same confirmation by the spirit that it is truly the word of God given to us, with the Bible to guide us through life. Life is crazy! But God loves us and he gave us direction in the form of The Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I'm a Mormon because it makes sense. I believe I can return to live with Heavenly Father (God) again and here is where I have the instructions, and access to the authority to facilitate that return. And what is it that ye shall hope for? From the Book of Mormon we learn: "Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise." (Moroni 7:41) We have been promised many blessings, Christ is our Savior, and we can live again with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live in such a way that others will want to come to know Christ by knowing me. I am serving a mission in the Canada Montreal. So for the next 18 months I will be living my faith by sharing the restored gospel with as many people as possible. I have set aside schooling, work, friends, and family, only temporarily, to live in Quebec, Canada to help as many people I can understand what it can mean to them that Jesus Christ lives. We do service in soup kitchens, at peoples' homes, and I've even gotten to participate in the construction of a home. Our daily activities include visiting our members, those practicing and nonpracticing to provide spiritual messages, and going about teaching anyone and everyone. Whether it be a random meeting, or a scheduled affair, we are here to teach teach teach!
