Hi I'm Melia

I grew up in the military, I love movies, books, and board games, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the seventh of eight children. I have two brothers and five sisters. Because my dad was in the Air Force, I've lived all over, including England and Alaska. I'm happiest when I'm with my family. I'm an English major, and when I'm not reading, I play the viola. I love to play board games, the more intense the better. There's almost nothing I'd rather do than play a four-hour long Monopoly game with my incredibly competitive family. When we aren't playing games we are usually quoting movies or telling stories. I love camping, hiking, and rock hunting in Wyoming.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this gospel is true. I have prayed and studied, and nothing else brings me greater happiness or peace. I know that God wants families to be together forever. One of my brothers died when he was a baby, and when I was 15 my dad passed away from cancer. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I know I will see my dad and my brother again. This knowledge makes the separation bearable. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and the sins of everyone who have lived or will live on the earth. I know that He lives. I know that my Heavenly Father lives. This gospel brings me great joy. It brings a peace that cannot be substituted by anything else. I know that I can pray to my Father in Heaven at any time and He will hear me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures, praying to my Heavenly Father, and going to church every Sunday. I try my very best every day to live as I know God would have me live. I actively participate in my ward by contributing to the best of my abilities when asked, whether it be giving a talk, playing the piano, or even teaching a lesson. I keep my standards in step with the Lord's and I don't lower them for anything.
