Hi I'm Ty Atkinson

I grew up moving all across the United States, going to college right now. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a simple guy, I love the outdoors, camping, fishing, dirtbiking, snowboarding, and all other types of sports. I'm an Exercise Physiology major at the college I attend. In the future i hope to become either a Physical Therapist or an Athletic Trainer. When I was in High School i struggled with grades and would study and study and study and my tests and grades would still be bad. I eventually found out through tests and other evaluations that i had a certain condition that was similar to Dyslexia and I had to spend tons of my own money and hundreds of hours learning how to retrain my brain to learn. After a year or so of doing that i was able to raise my grades and be accepted into a great University and have been able to be successful at my studies.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because i have been able to feel the truth of the teachings of Christ and from the promptings i have been able to feel throughout my life. I was able to be born into a family that already had learned about the gospel and was able to be taught from a young age. But when I started to get older and more aware of what was being taught i wanted to find out for myself whether these things were true or not. I had to search to find the truth through scripture reading and prayer i was able to feel promptings from the Holy Ghost that these things are true! Now the promptings i felt were not loud thunderings or anything like that, i had to consistently pray and pay attention to the feelings i was receiving. I know that these things are true and that only through following the example of the Lord are we able to come back to the presence of our Heavenly Father after this life. Obviously none of us are perfect so we will slip up every now and again but if we are striving to live the gospel and repent of the wrong doings we commit, we will be able to live with Go again.

How I live my faith

My faith in our Savior Jesus Christ and in our Father in Heaven is a strong one that have helped me be able to share with others through various roles within the church. I was able to serve a two year mission to the people of Uruguay and was able to not just provide service to them but also to help them learn about the teachings of the Savior and his eternal plan for us. I have also been able to have roles in serving the church and it's people through being a teacher in a Gospel Doctrine class and also as a children's sunday school class. through service and helping others we are able to gain a strong testimony of the importance of the Savior in our lives.
