Hi I'm Rachel

I am a college student and love social sciences. I am the oldest of seven kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Being a sibling defines me most. I have six younger siblings, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, and so I have babysat and helped out a lot growing up. I love kids and hope to have five or so kids of my own once I find a man I love and get married. I also love learning. My mom has made learning a big part of my life, and as long as I can remember we have been doing history projects and science experiments during the summer and read-a-thons on rainy days. In high school I really dove into the academics and took as many AP classes as I could. I also enjoyed dating, dances, and being involved in the Key Club service organization in high school. Last year I moved away from home and went to a university. I made great friends with my roommates and loved it there. I am majoring in Social Science Teaching with a French Teaching minor. One of my hobbies is to play the piano. I took lessons from the time I was eight till I graduated from high school. I also love to ballroom dance, digital scrapbook, read, and hike. Soon I will be fulfilling my lifelong dream of serving a LDS mission. I am headed to Paris, France and am so excited! After I come back home, I will return to college to finish my degree. I plan to eventually get a Masters and teach secondary education in the social sciences. I hope to also get married and raise a family. And between all that, I hope to travel, first to India and Sri Lanka, and then the rest of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me happy. It really is just as simple as that! I have found that I have so much more peace and love when I do what our Heavenly Father wants me to. I also am a Mormon because there are so many opportunities to serve and I love to help others and be a part of a good cause. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints answers my questions and doubts, increases my strength to endure, and gives me a purpose to myself and this life.

How I live my faith

I am called to serve in the France Paris Mission for a period of 18 months! I am so excited to meet the French people and share what I know and love with them! Throughout my life, I have enjoyed participating in service projects to help others in my community and the world such as humanitarian packs, weeding and yard work for those that can't, cleaning, etc. There is nothing I love better than the community coming together when there is a need. I also have played the piano each week in my college student congregation.
