Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Shasta Lake, California. I play tennis and soccer. I am a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I'd like to start off by saying I am a convert, having been baptized only a year ago. I love to play soccer and tennis, and to be challenged academically. I currently attend Brigham Young University in Provo and I plan on majoring in neuroscience with the hopes of becoming a surgeon someday. On August 20th, 2014 I will be entering into the MTC to prepare for teaching the gospel in Mandarin Chinese to the people in Hong Kong.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the wonderful community. One of the first impressions I had when I started to go to church was how happy Mormons were. I wanted to feel this same joy and sense of community so I began to include myself. Because of this, I was able to learn about the gospel and apply it directly to my life. I was able to feel a huge change of heart, a change that gave me both happiness and a direction.

How I live my faith

Having been recently baptized, I have not held too many callings, yet I have been highly active within my community. Before coming out to BYU, I frequently went out with the missionaries to teach the gospel. This in turn I brought home where I was able to teach my own family the importance of the teachings of Jesus Christ and other prophets. With the Lord's help, I was able to baptize my brother and sister. Now that I am at BYU, I currently serve as the executive secretary to the bishop. This calling requires that I stay with the bishop for long hours making appointments and doing anything else the bishop asks me to do. I have learned obedience and charity through this calling, a characteristic that I needed to learn.
