Hi I'm Jack

I live in Shrewsbury, I love football, I'm preparing to serve a mission in South Africa, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love football, I enjoy playing with friends and watching my favourite team with my dad. I enjoy listening to music, playing computer games, socialising with friends and having a good time. I have had great times attending activities with my best friends from church whilst I was in youth. Me and the Dream Team would have all sorts of adventures covering the length and breadth of England travelling to dances and activities. I'm really interested in writing and love to write in my spare time, taking subjects like English, History and Political Studies at college. I would love to put these skills to use in the future by becoming a sports reporter. I am currently preparing to serve a full time mission for the church in Durban, South Africa and am honoured to be able to fulfil this obligation to the Lord. I am excited to be able to learn of new cultures, nations, and spend time spreading the joy of the gospel to people of such a beautiful land. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing family that have brought me up in this gospel and have supported me in my decision to serve a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason why I am a Mormon is because of my love of our Saviour. He is the reason that I am what I am today, the reason that I am a member of this gospel, and the reason that I am serving a Mission. My love for him is undying, unfathomable, and always growing. He is a constant guide in my life, He makes me strong when I am weak, and gives me the strength to continue when times are tough. With His love that I have felt, I know that I am doing the right thing in going on a mission. I know He will keep me safe and guide me to people who are prepared to also feel of His love. The joy that I have felt whilst I have been at church has also built my testimony. My parents are also a blessing that I have been so lucky to receive. The testimony of my mum is something that has helped me on so many occasions understand why being a Mormon is so important in my life, and the example of my dad serving a mission is something that has driven me to do exactly the same. I am so lucky to have good friends who have served missions, are currently serving missions throughout the world, and will serve missions in the future. With their examples I know that I have been strengthened and motivated to do the same. I am a Mormon because I know with certainty that without it, I would be lost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a variety of ways. I am a Sunday School teacher in my ward, teaching the 12-14 year old youth class. I can already feel the blessings that I have received from their testimonies, and I hope that I will continue to learn, as it seems they are often the ones doing the teaching instead of me! I have attended and completed four years of seminary, finishing the course at the end of this school year. Seminary has taught me the importance of living my faith, as it has been a missionary tool to my friends and has blessed me abundantly as I have learnt and grown from the lessons. I try and be an example to all people around me, my friends, my family, and my colleagues, so that they can see the blessings that the gospel brings to my life. Finally I have the opportunity to be able to serve a mission very soon and this is helping me live my faith better already, by reading my scriptures, preparing to serve the Lord in everything that I do, and by becoming a better member of the Gospel, strengthening my testimony as I go.
