Hi I'm Lana

I love chocolate chip cookie dough, traveling, & I'm a Mormon (:

About Me

I love to dance, hike, bike, run marathons, anything outdoors really, eat ice cream, meet new people, travel to new places, & just enjoy family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

i am a mormon because it is the most positive, driving force in my life. I learn and come closer to the Savior through studying the Book of Mormon and words of the living prophets. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is truly Christ's church restored on the earth today! Through the authority of the priesthood I can recieve sacred and essential ordinances, such as baptism by immersion, temple covenants, and have an ETERNAL family (: The blessings that the Lord offers each of us is merciful and sublime; he wants us to have all that he has. but we are only qualified to recieve such through his true and living gospel. So that's why i am a mormon....because He loves me & I love Him. (:

How I live my faith

Well, apart from just living what i believe day to day by reading scriptures and praying, I have also been called to serve a 18-month mission to Richmond, Virginia (spanish speaking). There I will [hopefullly] learn spanish and share the gospel with the people of Virginia. I have previously held callings of Laurels President (youth leadership), and a Special Needs Mutual Youth Counselor. Special Needs Mutual is a wonderful organization that every thursday night Special Needs (both mental and physical) individuals come and meet together for an hour and a half fun-filled lesson/activity. As a youth counselor I got to work (and play) with an assigned participant & just be their friend. What a wonderful experience! Callings often require a sacrafice of time and energy, but are so, so worth it.

What is the difference between attending a church and attending a temple?

Lana
Attending "church" or sacrament meeting is a great way to come closer to the Savior each Sunday and welcome for anyone & everyone to attend! It is where we partake of the sacrament and come together to be "perfected and edified" (Ephesians 4:12) and learn more of Christ and his gospel. The temple is the house of the lord and reserved for those who believe and practice the principles of the gospel, such as honesty, chastity, etc. The temple is the most sacred and wonderful place in the world. It is there that you make covenants to the Lord and learn the ways to return to him. It is there that you can go to feel love, peace, order, reverence, guidance, and inspiration. It is a house of refuge, house of prayer, truly, the house of the Lord. (: Show more Show less
