Hi I'm Alexia

I claim California as home. I'm studying History Education at Southern Utah University. Music is my passion, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad is in the Navy, so I grew up all over the place. We are currently stationed in California, and I claim San Diego as my home. I am the oldest of four girls. I love to read and learn new things. I think history is fascinating! I also enjoy playing the piano, singing, and writing harmonies. I believe there is great power in music. I think education is so important, which is why I decided to become a teacher. Education is more than just books and school; it's about the world around us and how we can make it a better place. I hope to encourage my future students to learn, read, and experience life as much as they can. If I can get a couple excited about history as well, that will just be an added bonus! ;)

Why I am a Mormon

My entire family is LDS, by quite a few generations. However, I am a member because I choose to be. I love the message of the LDS faith. It's not just a part of my life, it's a part of me. It has shaped me into the person I am today. It encourages me to be the best version of myself. I have had too many answered prayers and wonderful blessings to deny what I know to be true. I love this Gospel! I believe Jesus Christ is my Savior. I believe in modern-day prophets and revelation. I believe the Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible. They both share wonderful messages about Christ. I believe we can talk to our Heavenly Father through prayer. He loves us so much! This Gospel makes me so happy, and at the end of the day, "men are, that they might have joy." (2 Nephi 2:25)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the best person I can be. I try to be kind to everyone I encounter. I attend classes at my local Institute of Religion. I enjoy serving in the Young Single Adult ward I attend while I'm at school. My family has daily family prayer, which really helps bring the Spirit into our home.
