Hi I'm Nelson Purinton

I grew up in Vermont. I have worked in aerospace engineering for over 35 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a semi-retired electrical engineer, specializing in software development. My wife and I have 2 children and I have 2 step children from her previous marriage.

Why I am a Mormon

I visited the church for years with my Mormon wife but I did not join. Then I got sick with Crohns. The doctors offered little help. This was scary. One day it occurred to me that I could ask for a blessing even though I was not a member of the church. That night, after the blessing, I was given the answer to why I had been so worried. Shortly after that I felt a wave of sensation go through my torso. The pain of Crohns was gone and I was left with a wonderful sensation of peace. I learned from this that God is detectable, as an engineer might say, and that he has the power to forgive sins, I felt it happen. I have learned since then that the scriptures frequently invite all people to seek God. I just did not know that there is a "procedure" to find God and the results of the "procedure" are powerful. I now know that there is a loving Father in Heaven and I enjoy his blessings in my life every day. I love going to church every Sunday and learning about the secrets of happiness.

How I live my faith

I am the clerk in my ward.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Nelson Purinton
My wife is not my equal, she is much smarter then I am. She recognized the truth of the church years before I did. I finally found out the truth and our happiness together has been greatly increased. Show more Show less
