Hi I'm Alyssa

I'm a book lover and a nature lover. I'm quiet and I'm loud. I'm a sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm about to serve a mission in Argentina, by the time anyone reads this I'll already be on my mission, and I'm excited to serve the Lord in this way. I enjoy life's simple pleasures such as reading a good book, sitting outside when the weather is perfect, and spending time with my friends and family. I'm interested in lots of subjects, but I don't quite know "what I want to do with my life" yet. Still I don't mind the uncertainty because I'm happy with where I am right now. I am typically a calm and quiet person, and I like to have fun when I'm around the people I care about and I can be loud at times.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and since I was a little kid I have loved this church, and believed it to be God's restored church. I have believed this because when I pray, when I go to church, when I listen to General Conference, and when I take the sacrament I can feel the Holy Spirit testify to me that this is God's church. And it's more than good talks and good lessons. Whenever there is a priesthood ordinance being preformed such as blessing the sacrament I feel in my heart that that ordinance has been preformed through the proper authority. There have been times when I have questioned if God is real and if this church is real, but when I have prayed about it, I have felt the Holy Spirit touch my heart and give my the answer that I needed to hear. And because that same spirit has testified to me in many instances the truthfulness of this church, I choose to be a Mormon, and I choose to follow the Savior and seek his will in my life.

How I live my faith

My faith is a central part of who I am. I live it by trying to love the people around me in the best way I can. In the mornings I pray that the Lord will bless me in the things I'm trying to accomplish, and pray that I might be able to sense people's needs and that I might be able to uplift them. Because of this I have been blessed with strong relationships.
