Hi I'm Hannah

I'm a water polo player. I want to be a doctor. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hey! I am currently in my freshman year of college! I'm majoring in Biology with the goal to go to medical school. I was born in Utah and lived there until I was 12, then I moved to Southern California and lived there until I was 17, then moved to Seattle, WA right before starting my senior year of high school, and now I am back in Utah attending college. Moving around was hard, but I quickly fell in love with every state I've lived in! I am the oldest of 4 kids and love to play water polo and swim. I love school and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon. It is sometimes hard for members who were born in the church to answer this question, mainly because we grew up with it as a part of our lives, we didn't know any different. But for me personally, I have chosen to stay in the church because of the sweet, peaceful, confirming spirit I feel whenever I read the Book of Mormon, pray, attend church meetings, listening to general conference, spend time around other members, going to the temple, or perform service. Especially since moving away from home, I have had to make the decision to go to church or not, on my own. I don't have my mom or dad nagging me to wake up Sunday morning. It's just me now. Which can be hard. But because of this church, I know that I am NEVER alone. The influence of the Holy Ghost is always with me. It's like having a little personal guide with you, where ever you go. One of the greatest things about this gospel is Christ's atonement for me. He bled from every pore on his body and suffered on the cross for me, because He loves me. Because of that great sacrifice, I am able to become clean. But this sacrifice wasn't just for me, it was for EVERYONE. Jesus Christ sacrificed his life for every single person who has ever lived and who will live on this earth with the hopes that they would use His gift and strive to become perfect. Also, I know that there is a living prophet on this earth today, and he goes by the name Thomas S Monson. We have the privilege of hearing his, and other general authorities, message from God twice a year during general conference. How amazing is that? To hear the word of God through His mouth piece. I share these things with you, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

Growing up, I've always participated in the children's activities and was baptized when I turned 8 years old. As I got into my teens, I was in more leadership positions among my peers. I've organized and lead many different activities including an 11 mile hike to the temple. Right now I am attending a young single adult congregation. I love meeting all these new people. I don't have any leadership positions yet, but I am still fairly new to the group, so that is expected. At my University there are Mormon church classes I can take that are organized and sponsored by the church. There I have the opportunity to grow my faith. I try to read the scriptures everyday, but as any freshman college student, I am pretty busy and get carried away easily.
