Hi I'm Elizabeth

I love singing, writing, traveling, and making people smile. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah and grew up around wonderful friends and family members. I am a dog lover and will always by the person who gets way too excited when I see a puppy walking down the street. I love to write and sing and find the simple yet stunning beauty in the day to day things that life brings. I have always loved the arts and have made sure to include either drama or choir into all of my years of schooling. I graduated from high school in 2017 and moved away for a year of college full of fun, learning, and amazing people that I will never forget. I am currently preparing to serve as an LDS missionary in the Arizona Tucson Mission (and July 2018 could not come soon enough). I am so excited to have this opportunity to teach God's children in the Tucson area about the truth of the gospel and the love and knowledge that has become such a sure and important part of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

At first I was a Mormon because I was raised to a Mormon but as I've lived and learned and been a part of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints over the course of my life I've come to know a much deeper reason as to why I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know that this is God's true and living church on earth today. I have personally felt the spirit testify to me of its truth and have seen the blessings of further truth and understanding be extended to me as I've been willing to follow in His footsteps and trust in what I believed in even before I came to know it for myself. I know that the priesthood keys held in the LDS church are real and that God's power truly does does heal physically, emotionally, and spiritually and I've been able to witness that both for myself as well as see it in the lives of those that I'm closest to. I am a Mormon because I have felt God's pure love for me even in the hardest places and times in my life and I know that he loves me personally and individually and I want to show my love for Him by following Him, learning of Him, and coming to know Him and love Him personally as He has come to know and love me. I know that this is His true and living church and how could I not be part of something that shows my love for Him when everyday He shows His love for me?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the way that I live my life. I believe that religion is something that belongs in our every day lives and becomes part of who we are as we live it and further our knowledge of it. I live my faith in simple ways such as keeping the word of wisdom, maintaining (to the best of my ability) clean thoughts and language, reading my scriptures daily, and talking with my Father in Heaven through prayer along with other small and simple means. I also live my faith in bigger ways as well, such as preparing to (and soon being able to) serve an LDS mission and dedicating eighteen months on my life to the being that loves me enough to give His Only Begotten Son so that I might overcome my mortal imperfections of death and sin through Him and return to live with my Father in Heaven. Whether you serve a mission or are struggling to find faith day to day, I know that your Father in Heaven loves you and is proud of you for trying because we're all imperfect people trying to become better and our love for Him will help us to feel His love for us.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Elizabeth
To put it simply, the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the greatest act of pure love and charity that ever has or ever will take place. Christ's atonement is key to God's plan for us and allows us to overcome the two things that keep even the most seemingly perfect people from returning to their Heavenly Father: sin and death. Christ suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane so that we could overcome sin through Him. He died for us on the cross so that we could over come death through Him. He chose to do this great service for us because He loves us with a love so strong that we cannot comprehend it. When He suffered for our sins He suffered our sorrows. He experienced all of the pain and suffering that we would go through in life so that we wouldn't have to suffer through it alone. So that we would have a friend to help us through our lives, not only in the hardest times but in all times. So that He would know exactly how we felt and have perfect empathy towards us. Because of Christ's Atonement we never have to be alone. We will always have someone with us who understands us perfectly and who will always be there for us so long as we are willing to let Him in. Because of Christ's Atonement we can overcome both sin and death and be able to return to our Father in Heaven. Because of Christ's Atonement we can become perfect through Him. He has given us the greatest gift and it is our choice to live our lives in such a way that we can use this miraculous gift. Show more Show less
