Hi I'm Colby

I love the mountains. I love to duck hunt and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, My name is Colby. I have five sisters and one brother. I am going on a mission that is spanish speaking and am super excited. Some hobbies I enjoy are, duck hunting, goose hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends, camping, and basically anything that you do outdoors. I hope to return from my mission and attend business school and find a wife. That is where my story ends with a ... because I don't know what life holds me, but one thing is for sure, the church will be a part of it.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is a large part of my life. As a human, I make mistakes, but I know in my heart that the Lord and Jesus Christ want me to do well. So, when I make a mistake I can take advantage of the plan that God has laid out for me and you. Now that doesn't mean that I can go out and sin on purpose and all sorts of other stuff and I will be ok. Rather, the plan is for the time that I make a mistake and I earnestly want to repent. Once I repent though, I am still not perfect and that is where Jesus Christ makes up the difference to make me a better person. Another reason that I am a Mormon is the scriptures. As a church, we believe in the Bible, and another ancient record call the Book of Mormon. This record was brought forth to our time in order to bring clarity to the Bible. I like to think of the Bible as a board with one screw in it, with only one screw it can be twisted around in anyway that someone wants. When the bible is coupled with the Book of Mormon it is like adding another screw to hold the board in the place which is how the Lord anticipated it to be. The LDS faith is the only religion on this planet that has the Book of Mormon, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved in church by preparing to serve a full time mission. A mission in relation to the church is basically a young man or woman going to a different country or area of their current country to bring others to the knowledge of Jesus Christ's atonement. I leave on my two year mission in only two short months so preparation is a key part of life right now. The LDS church called me to serve my two year mission in the Spanish Language so not only do I have to spend time preparing spiritually, but I also need to learn a new language. Needless to say the preparation that is necessary takes up quite a bit of time throughout my week.
