Hi I'm Tom Thomas

I am an orthopedic surgeon currently living in Fresno CA. I have been a Mormon all of my life

About Me

I am an orthopedic surgeon practicing is Fresno California. I grew up in Ogden Utah. I attended BYU and U of U medical school. My lovely wife and I have 6 wonderful children and currently 6 grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family and was raised by wonderful parents that taught me to love and honor Jesus Christ. I remain a Mormon because I studied Mormon doctrine and doctrines of many other religions, and I listened to and studied many of the criticisms and accusations about the Mormon church and in the end found little substance in all of that; but I found a sweet and peaceful feeling with Mormon doctrine that draws me closer to my Savior and to our Heavenly Father

How I live my faith

I try to show my gratitude to the Saviior by sharing my time and the things I have with my brothers and sisters here on earth. I am blessed to serve in the local stake presidency that gives me the opportunity to serve members in several congregations. I try to share what I have by contributing generously to others in the church, community and other opportunities throughout the world.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Tom Thomas
I believe that faith is Jesus Christ is a tremendous help to strengthen our marriages, family and other relationships. Faith in Jesus Christ leads me to be grateful for the atonement and for all that Jesus has done for me. That has helped me to be more of a grateful person, and that helps me to be grateful for what my wife and famly members do also. That makes me want to do more for them to demonstrate my gratitude. The more grateful I am, the less selfish I am. And of course it is very well known that selfishness is the one thing that destroys the most relationships. Also as I learn more about Jesus and come to know him better, I want to be more like him. As little children in the church we often sing a sweet little song that says "I am trying to be like Jesus". I am trying to do that. Show more Show less
