Hi I'm Anna!

16 years old. Singer/Songwriter. I enjoy music, eating chocolate muffins, and eating more chocolate muffins. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 16 years old and the youngest of seven. My family means the world to me. There are so many things I love and have a strong passion for, but here are only a few: singing, songwriting, shopping at thrift stores, playing piano, making music videos, performing on stage, serving others, photography, fishing, four-wheeling, and traveling. I've been singing since I could open my mouth and have loved it ever since! My greatest heroes in life are my parents and Jesus Christ. My favorite color is Coral. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. My favorite scriptures in my favorite book are Alma 5:26 and Helaman 5:12 (in the Book of Mormon). God is good, I love him very much.

Why I am a Mormon

I wasn't truly converted till I was 15. Growing up my mom taught me the importance of daily prayer, daily scripture study, going to church, etc. I really wanted to find out for myself why these things were so important. It wasn't until Seminary that I fully understood that this church IS true & that Christ DOES live. We pray, read scriptures, & go to church to learn about Christ and his teachings. That's why it's important. These things help us maintain & build our relationship with Christ. I put my faith in God to know that Christ lives because even if he isn't, necessarily, physically alive, his spirit lives within each and every one of us as we serve & try to be like Him. Christ is like the sun & we are like a mirror. We reflect his light by the way we act and treat others. I know that God loves us more than we can ever comprehend. Christ is my best friend; He died for me, atoned for my sins, & comforts me when I am in need of comfort. There has never been a time in my life when he has not answered my prayers. If you want to know if what I'm telling you is true, if you want to know it for yourself like I did, ask! Pray. Sometimes it may take a while for him to answer, but I promise that if you never give up on asking, he will never give up on answering. Have faith in his timing. He has a plan for all of us. He knows what we need to hear and when we need to hear it. We go through trials so we can grow closer to him, to cry unto him when we are in our darkest moments, to put our faith in him, to rely on him. He puts his strongest soldiers through the toughest battles because he knows how much we can handle. If you've messed up in life, ask Him for forgiveness. He WILL forgive you; he always does. The Book of Mormon is a book from God. Every word in it is true. If you want to know of it's truth, read it. Ask if what you're reading is true. I love this church so much! It means the world to me. I love God with all my heart. Christ is my hero. "I believe in Christ."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing the gifts that God gave me through music. When I was younger, my brother and I would gather together a group of friends every Sunday night to go and sing worship songs to Rehabilitation Centers around our hometown. It would give me the best feeling in the world to see these sweet people tear up as we sang their favorite hymns that reminded them of passed loved ones. Though after a few years, life caught up to me. Every Sunday night we were going around visiting family. It had been two years since I last sang at Care Center. Sunday, July 13th, 2014, I was able to gather a group of musical friends together to go and sing at the Rehabilitation Center in Riverton. The first man we sang to seemed like he could care less. After that, the nurses were getting tons of requests from other patients telling them that they want us to come and sing to them. The last lady we sang to had only six more weeks to live. It was such a joy singing to such a beautiful angel about to meet God. I felt the same love as the love I felt when I would sing at Care Centers years ago. We finished the song, she thanked us, and then we left. But I stayed behind to thank her for letting us sing to her, and to tell her that her Savior loved her very much. Tears filled my eyes as she held my hand tight and smiled the most angelic smile I have ever seen. This experience made me feel the love God has for me and his children. I plan to sing at Rehabilitation Centers around the city at least once a month. I love sharing the spirit through music. Music is a gift from God that is meant to be shared. It gives me so much joy to serve the Lord in a way that makes me grin ear-to-ear. Music changes people. God changes people. I live my faith by sharing the gifts that God gave me.

What is faith?

To have faith is so hope for things or believe in things that are not seen. To have faith in God is to trust in him, to trust that everything happens for a reason, and to have trust in his timing. Another way to look at faith is to believe in something enough to cause you to act. Show more Show less
