Hi I'm Cody Argyle

I've grown up in North SLC Utah. I play about every sport known to man. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated high school(May 2014) I played baseball, football, volleyball, biked, and shredded the gnar (ski). I leave to the mtc (missionary training center) in 8 days. I then will be serving two years in Canada as a full time missionary inviting others to come to Christ. After that I plan on going to college and playing baseball.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been attending the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints every since I was born. I was confirmed a member when I was baptized at eight years old. At a young age, I piggybacked on my parents testimonies. I didn't gain my own testimony until the summer before my senior year in high school. I had a close friend pass away in a car accident. I didn't understand why it had to be her because she was the most perfect person I had ever met. I had always heard the phrase, "Good things happen to good people." She was more than good, but she still died? I was a mess for a few weeks. I prayed more in those few weeks then ever before. I needed to know if she was ok, and if there really was life after death. I cannot describe the feelings I got. I felt peace and love but in a way I really have no idea how to tell. A lot of people say its a fuzzy feeling in your heart, but what I felt was all of my worries, pains and everything bad replaced with something way more satisfying than a Snickers. I was overwhelmed with the spirit. That point is when I had without a doubt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was true. My plans to play college baseball soon turned into plans to serve a mission. I wanted more than anything to help in any way I could to let other people feel what I felt. The day I made the decision to serve a mission I felt that same spirit just as strong. It's how I know that what I'm doing is right.

How I live my faith

I will be serving as a full time missionary starting July 23, 2014. I will be leaving my family, friends, scholarships, and the greatest sport ever created(baseball), for two years to head to Eastern Canada and invite others to come to Christ. I recently was serving as an adviser for kids my age (16-19). I helped with planning activities, making sure peoples needs were met, and building friendships. Most of the kids look up to the oldest kids in the quorum, so we set good examples to them by living the gospel of Jesus Christ. This includes obeying the commandments and teachings of our latter day prophet, word of wisdom, and law of chastity.
