Hi I'm Colton

I was born in Iowa. I have grown up in northern Idaho. I am heading on a mission to Bolivia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of three siblings. My absolute favorite thing to do is fly fish. I love fishing for rainbow and cutthroat trout on rivers and streams around where I live. I also enjoy skiing in the winter, and slalom skiing in the summer. Some other hobbies of mine include golf, tennis, and shotgun shooting. I love to be outdoors. On July 15, I will leave to serve a two year mission in the Bolivia Santa Cruz North Mission. I am so excited. Following that, I hope to attend Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where both of my parents are members of the church. So for a while, I just went to church because they did. However, over time, I have come to gain a personal knowledge and testimony of the gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and that it has the power to change people's lives. It has definitely changed my life, bringing me more joy and happiness than anything else on this earth. I know that we have living prophets today, who can give us guidance and direction that comes from the Lord himself. I know that I am a child of God, that He loves me, and that I have the potential to become like Him.

How I live my faith

I love going to church every Sunday and experiencing the Spirit I feel there. I have served as a leader of different youth groups in the church, and I love going to different weekly youth activities. Every month I go out with my hometeaching companion to visit different families in the ward, and share a message of the gospel. On July 15, 2014, I will leave to serve a two-year mission to Bolivia. I can't wait to serve the people there and to share the gospel I love so much.
