Hi I'm Parker

I'm from Phoenix AZ. I will be leaving on a mission to Santiago Chile come August 27! And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 18 years old and have recently graduated high school. I'm preparing to serve a mission in the Chile Santiago east area and am so excited! I play soccer and swim competitively. I live in a family of 5, with myself being the oldest child. I have 2 sisters which I consider to be my greatest of friends. I grew up in Phoenix, AZ and moved to Colorado Springs, CO when I was 12. I recently have moved up to Alaska which was a big change in my life. And no, I have never ridden a moose before. ;)

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know without a doubt that this church IS TRUE. And the only way you can find out for yourself is to pray and ask. I have always been a member in the church, but I have just recently gained a true testimony of the church about a year ago. I was reading the scriptures during seminary one morning and we were talking about what it means to be converted to the church. And what it means to be fully converted is that YOU have to know for yourself whether the church is the real deal or not. It occurred to me that I had never truly asked and prayed about what I was being taught. So I decided that I needed to stop idling around and begin praying and asking my Heavenly Father as to what I was being taught was true. And so one night I was kneeling on my bedside asking Him if this was the true church of Jesus Christ. And after I had asked Him, the room was filled with such a happy and peaceful feeling. And that feeling was nothing other than the Spirit. That happiness is only and will only be obtainable through the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I just cant tell you how important it is to pray and sincerely want to know of what the Bible and the Book of Mormon talk about is true. So yes, the reason I am a Mormon and forever will stay a Mormon is because I have asked and was given an answer. And I testify to you that if you take it upon yourselves to ask and have a sincere desire to know the truth and pray, you will be given an answer.

How I live my faith

Every week I attend church. This is known to many of my friends, my favorite day of the week! I have recently have had the opportunity to accept the responsibility of teaching Sunday school class for all of the 12-14 year old young men and women. Whenever I get the chance to participate in service projects for either members of the church or people in my community I don't hesitate to make myself readily available. To me, service is one of the greatest ways that we can show love for our friends and family. My testimony has grown serving others, and that's part of the reason I've made my choice in serving a mission for the church, where I'm confident that my testimony of the church will only grow more and more.
