Hi I'm Brandon Horsley

I'm from Colorado, I played football, ran track, sang in choir and musicals, serving in the West Indies Mission, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm the second oldest out of 6 children, 5 boys and the youngest is a girl. I love sports, particularly football! I've played since 4th grade up to senior year, and started senior year as tight end. The Lord blessed me significantly and I was All Conference. I was 1st Team All State Academic for two years in both football, and track. Although I love sports, my older brother got me into choir, andI found out that I enjoy that too! I auditioned and got into the top choir in my high school, and played a partial lead in two musicals. The Lord has blessed me in many ways. I am now going on a mission to the West Indies Mission, Tobago Mission region! I am super excited to serve The Lord!

Why I am a Mormon

My conversion wasn't a one time event, but rather a series of events. I was raised in the Church, but there comes a time where you need to gain a testimony for yourself. As a 7th grader, I committed to reading the Book of Mormon everyday, and continued all through my schooling and even now, read that wonderful book daily! As I read, I would pray to my Father in Heaven to know if the book was true, and if this was His true church, and every time I prayed, The Holy Ghost testified to me of the truthfulness of this gospel, and of the Book of Mormon. As I continued to grow my testimony, I prayed to know about the Prophet Joseph Smith, and just like my experience the first time, The Holy Spirit swelled with in me, to where I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God! God is so merciful, and He asks us all to pray unto Him and ask Him the things which we have pondered in our hearts and minds, in faith, and He will answer us. I know this to be true because He has done it for me a countless number of times, and I am so thankful for Him! I am a Mormon because I know that this is The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ on the earth. This is His Church!

How I live my faith

Living the gospel was never super hard for me, to be honest. When I wasn't doing what was right, I had a sick, dark feeling, and hated it, so I always tried to follow the gospel as best as I can, and the Lord blesses me to be happy and confident, and these feelings grow as I progress in the gospel! Being in the football scene in high school was pretty hard at times because I was the only LDS kid my age on the team, and all my friends would participate in inappropriate activities, so at times I felt lonely, but I knew that I was doing the right thing. I was doing what God wanted me to do! And because I did what I did, I developed great friendships and earned respect on the team. The Lord is so merciful, and so great, and I am so thankful for Him!
