Hi I'm Joshua

I was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. I love to hang out with friends, learn new things, and meet new people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an student - always. I love to learn, apply, and grow! I've been a dreamer and ambitious since I was young. I have high hopes for my future, and I have no idea what my lie ahead of me, but I'm going to make the best of it. I'm currently serving as a full-time missionary in American Sign Language, which has been a wonderful - and crazy - experience. I love the language, and it's been quite a humbling experience to be taken from everything I knew and thrown into a whole other culture. Again, though, I love everything about it and wouldn't trade it for the world! I love medical science, and have ambitions to study and pursue a career in the medical field after my service in the mission field. I also plan to become an ASL interpreter, and stay active in the Deaf community!

Why I am a Mormon

I know this church is true - it's been testified to me through the Spirit. When I read the Book of Mormon, I find answers to current questions in my life. I know that prayer is a two-way communication with our Heavenly Father, and that everyone can receive personal revelation. I know that in my life, I've had many afflictions - and I have been comforted through all of them because of Jesus Christ and his atonement. I know that he died for the world, and all of its sins; His only wish is that we take advantage of that atonement, that we may all return to Heaven to live with him. I know that through this atonement, and the Plan that Jesus has presented for all of us, I can be with my family forever. We may live together in a kingdom of glory, with God himself, and eternally progress. Because of this knowledge, I know it is my responsibility to share this joy with everyone I meet. I'm proud, happy, and grateful to be Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now, as a missionary, I feel the largest role I have in living my faith is being an example to all. Whether I'm pulling weeds or telling scripture stories, I always strive to bring the Light of Christ with me. Something the gospel is taught me is to always have a positive attitude. I truly believe the statement "All that is unfair in life can be made right through the Atonement of Jesus Christ." Though life throws trial and trial upon us, we can always wear a smile, knowing that our Savior, Jesus Christ, made it possible for us to overcome. I know that my Redeemer lives, and that knowledge gives me reason to have joy. That attitude is something I strive to share with others, whether it be a smile on a street or a steady countenance and strong shoulders in troubling times. That's how I believe the Savior would behave, and it's something I strive to emulate.
