Hi I'm Taylor Wayne Compton

Born & raised in Utah, viví por 2 años en Argentina. Sports are my passion. My family & my Savior are my everything. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of 3 sons in my family. One of the biggest aspects of me and my family's life is sports. We've grown up and bonded as a sports family. I've had basketballs and footballs in my hands ever since I could walk. American football and basketball have been some of my greatest passions in my life. But now after serving a 2 year mission in Argentina, I'm crazy for "futbol" as well! I'm grateful for the relationships and life lessons I've been privileged to learn through athletics. Currently I play football for Utah State University as I pursue my business marketing degree. But as much as I love sports it's not even close to the most important thing in my life. The most important thing in my life is my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His restored gospel and church. Following right after that is my family. I love them so dearly and no temporal thing comes before them. And thirdly, my friends. My friends have been one of the greatest blessings in my life. Their example and friendship have made making good decisions easy in my life. To learn a little about us, go to lds.org and look up the videos: "Texting Truth" and "Staying Spiritually Fit"! Then comes school, a priority in me and my family's life. And lastly, sports as I have previously mentioned is a passion of mine. Keeping my life in this order of priority has allowed me to be happy. Because when we put Jesus Christ first in our lives, He blesses us to succeed in all other aspects of life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I have a testimony that it is the only true church on the earth today. I know that living this gospel and making right choices is the only way to true happiness. All Jesus Christ wants is for us to come unto Him and be happy. I have a testimony that He lives. That he died for us so that we can be forgiven of our sins. That through His atonement, everything that is wrong in the world is made right. That He rose the third day, resurrected in glory, and overcame death for us. And because He died for us and rose again, we can have pure joy through Him. I know God loves each one of us here on the earth. That He made a plan for us to come to this earth so that we could receive a body, experience the trials of mortality, and become like Him. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. That he restored the true gospel back to the earth. That he saw Jesus Christ and God, the Eternal Father in the Sacred Grove. That he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I've read it and prayed and received my answer that it is true. And that men become closer to God by living its teachings. This is Jesus Christ's restored gospel here on the earth and He runs it from the top down. He runs it through divine revelation given to his prophet, Thomas S. Monson. Who is the only true and living prophet on the earth and has all keys to exercise and lead the Savior's church on the earth today. I know that the apostles are disciples are witnesses of the Lord, Jesus Christ. I don't say I know this because I was born and raised in Utah or that I know it because my parents know it. I KNOW IT for myself. I have spent many precious moments in supplication to God and have tested this gospel by living it. He has given me the burning in my bosom of truth from the spirit that I can't deny. And He gives this witness to all who ask with a true heart and real intent.

How I live my faith

I am so grateful that I am a member of this church. My mom and dad have taught and raised me on the principles of righteousness found in the gospel of Jesus Christ.; taught by Him, and His apostles and prophets. I live this faith by trying to become more like Jesus Christ everyday. I try to become more like Him by keeping his commandments, serving others, giving help to the needy and afflicted, and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. I try to exercise his qualities, such as: humility, diligence, obedience, patience, and many more. I am far from perfect, but I know that as I strive to do these things I will become more like Him each and everyday. We all mess up, but Jesus Christ is there to help us through all our imperfections and just wants us to keep getting better day by day. We do this by repenting of our mistakes and having faith in Jesus Christ, that He has power to forgive and heal our infirmities. We show our faith in Him by living His gospel, keeping His commandments, and participating in His church. I go to church each Sunday to renew my faith and fortify my soul for the challenges of life. I go to church because I have faith in my Savior and know that that is how He wants us to worship Him and Heavenly Father. The most important thing I do at church on Sunday is renew the covenants I've made to Jesus Christ and rededicate myself to Him by taking the sacrament. But we don't just exercise our faith in Jesus Christ on Sundays. We exercise our faith in Him every single day of every week. During the week I worship Him by studying His words in the scriptures, constant prayer, serving in our temples, and serving my fellow man. We remember Him and do unto others as He did, every single day. I know that as we focus our efforts to be like Him every day, we find true happiness in this life. Another way I've chosen to follow Jesus Christ and live my faith is by serving a 2 year mission in Buenos Aires, Argentina, ¡amo muchísimo a mis hermanos y hermanas allá!
