Hi I'm Kailun Hensley

I grew up in several states across the U.S. I love fitness, exploration, and humanitarian work. I am missionary. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I am serving a two-year full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Thus far this mission has been one of the greatest things I have done in my life. It has been a privilege to help those that are in need both temporally and spiritually. Growing up my family and I were moving from state to state for either family in the area or for work related things. That upbringing really blessed me in a lot of ways! I love fitness and living a healthy life-style. In High School I played football and engaged myself in one of my passions, humanitarian work! Before the start of my Senior year I fundraised the money to travel abroad to Tanzania, Africa for volunteer work. There I was engaged in teaching English to the local kids in the Ptandi primary district village school and being educated on the different health related issues in that country. It was a true privilege to see and hear the experiences of these wonderful people. While being there I had the opportunity to fulfill on of my goals and that was to go on a Safari and to hike the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa's tallest free standing mountain). While having these experiences I really had the opportunity to see the measure of God's creations. I know with the different experiences I have had it has changed my perspective on many things. I have come to realize, as the writer Marcel Proust said, "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons but the biggest one is that I have the read the Book of Mormon and the Holy Ghost has testified the truth of it unto me. Growing up in the church you really rely off of your parents testimonies but sooner or later you have to gain one for yourself. It really hit me hard when one of my best friends past away and I had a hard time accepting it. But as I thought to myself that it's all in Gods will and he's in a better place comforted me the most. From this experience and other experiences I turn to the Gospel to help me through it. I know with every bit of my soul that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and restored this church upon the earth and all the saving ordinances required to return back to our Father in Heaven. I know that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God and know that anyone that reads it with a broken heart and a contrite spirit will feel of the truth of it by the power of the Holy Ghost. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is God's true prophet upon the earth he speaks with God, is lead by God and leads this church in the plans of our Father in Heaven. I love this Gospel and can't wait to share this glorious message about Jesus Christ with others.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full-time mission for this church, which consists of two years of my life. With serving this mission I strive to help people both temporally and spiritually. I strive to share this wonderful message about how God still speaks to His children today. The Book of Mormon is the evidence that God is still speaking today and He loves all of us with an indescribable love. I have come to know all of this by putting my faith into action and reading the scriptures. In the scriptures I have found comfort and direction for my life that God has given me. I always thank God for the blessings He has given me! I have reached out to Him in a prayer of faith and He reached out back to me and answered my prayer, so that is one of the biggest reasons why I continue to live my faith today.
