Hi I'm Greg

I was born in Memphis Tennessee but grew up in Vancouver Washington. I love the outdoors and having fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of Seven. I have Four siblings, three sisters and one older Brother. I'm the middle child and love it. I grew up in Vancouver Washington and will forever love The Pacific Northwest! Ever since I was little I loved the game of basketball. Much of my childhood was and teen years were spent going to basketball tournaments and learning to "play the game". I love spending time with my friends and Family. One of my families hobbies is boating, we love to be on the water and to enjoy out beautiful surroundings. I served a two year mission in the south of Brazil. From serving a mission I was able to understand the importance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice for each and every one of us. I love the people of Brazil and think about them constantly since iv been home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this Church my whole life. I grew up hearing Mom and Dad telling me that this is the true church my entire life, but there came a time in my life when I needed to know for myself if all the things that we teach in our church are true. I prayed to my Father in Heaven and asked with Faith wanting to know if this really was his Church on the earth today. I remember receiving a very personal answer that I will carry with me for all of my life. This answer has brought me peace and happiness through the difficult times of my life and has grown stronger as I have searched to strengthen my relationship with Christ. I know that through this Church we can come closer to our Father in Heaven and come to understand his plan more fully. For this reason, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As a member of the LDS church we are all designated specific roles to help the church and its organization. One thing that I love about the church is how everything is done voluntarily. We do not pay our bishop or local church leaders to run the church, everything is based off of tithing donations and the willingness of the members to help run the Church. We as members are all taught to serve one another as any other Christian is. We do not take pride in our callings but in the magnification of fulfilling our designated callings to help the Church. My calling as of right now is the Home Teaching coordinator. In our church we make sure that every member or family has two designated "home teachers" (two men who hold the priesthood) to visit and take care of these members and families during times of need. We are encouraged to visit our designated family at least once a month to check on their physical and spiritual needs. My duty as the Home Teaching Coordinator is to make sure that the visits are being done and the individuals are being taken care of. I have a strong testimony of Home Teaching and know of the good things that come of it if done correctly. We all face problems in this life and we were not meant to face them alone for this purpose Home Teaching is done within our church, so that we can care for one another as Jesus would if he were here.
