Hi I'm Madsen

I am from Apex, NC. I run, wrestle, and longboard. I attend BYU and I'm currently serving in the California Irvine Mission!

About Me

I have lived in Utah, Colorado, and North Carolina. In high school I ran cross country and I wrestled; I also enjoy writing and I worked on my high school's newspaper. I recently completed my freshman year of college as a public health major and I intend to continue as a pre-med student and go onto medical school to become a doctor of some sort. Outside of my educational pursuits, I love longboarding, kayaking, swimming, and basically anything else you can do outdoors with friends. I love going on adventures with my friends and family and creating fun memories. I am currently serving as a missionary in the California Irvine Mission and I love sharing the gospel and helping those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love this gospel and its principles. Through this gospel I know that I am a child of God and that He loves me and has a plan for me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer and I know that it is only through His sacrifice and the Atonement that I can be able to be happy now and for eternity and ultimately be able to live with my family forever in the presence of our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

In my community I serve whenever given the opportunity and provide the best help that I possibly can. In a previous calling of mine I led a group of fellow students in activities designed to help build our testimonies as well as to create a strong bond of friendship and family while we were away from our actual families. I have always attempted to set an example for those around me through following what I believe and being helpful whenever called upon. Currently I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I spend my days happily sharing the gospel by word and by deed as I show those around me that I love my Savior, Jesus Christ and that if they come to feel this same love for Him they will be able to have a greater amount of joy and happiness in their lives.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Mormons do believe the Bible to be the word of God and look to it for guidance and support in their lives. The words contained with in the various books of the Bible teach us what we must do to follow Jesus Christ, whether they be the principles taught by the prophets of the Old Testament or the words of Christ Himself in the New Testament and the words taught by His chosen Apostles. Many people believe that we have the Book of Mormon because we feel the Bible is not enough but that is not true; the Book of Mormon does not add to the Bible, in fact it supports everything contained in the Bible and can help those who read it come to an even greater understanding of the love that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father have for them.
